Several benefits are associated with Moringa, which is native to the Himalayan region of India. Thanks to these many nutrients, it can help fight against malnutrition, detoxify the body of arsenic, help regulate diabetes, clean the water of its impurities and reduce cholesterol levels. It is simply a plant with multiple benefits.
Moringa, more than a plant, a food
The whole plant is edible. The seeds can be roasted and eaten. Its white flower has a mushroom taste. Its leaves are a food, they are eaten like spinach. Its pods are high in protein and taste like asparagus. Its roots taste like horseradish, and help against scurvy.
Just in the moringa oleifera leaf, there are so many elements that it is considered a superfood.
- Iron
- calcium
- Magnesium
- potassium
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin B (B6 and B2)
- Vitamin A (beta-carotene)
- Protein
- Amino acids
- fibers
Pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as infants can consume moringa leaves without fear, because it gives multiple vitamins and minerals that will help the growth of the baby.
Moringa helps get rid of fatigue and decreases anxiety. Thanks to its high level of vitamin A, it helps to correct vision problems. Its iron level is 3 times higher than in spinach. So Popaye can go sit down, or change his diet, if he wants to stay strong and healthy!
Moringa to lower sugar levels
Several studies show that moringa leaves, when eaten regularly, can lower blood sugar levels. High blood sugar increases the risk of various diseases such as diabetes, and heart disease. Moringa leaves can help lower blood sugar levels, as well as cholesterol levels, making it a diabetic-friendly herb.
Moringa, purifies the water
A study from the University of Northern British Columbia shows that moringa root powder can kill up to 87% of E. coli bacteria in contaminated water. It's not nothing! So, one could use it when needed, simply by soaking overnight in water to be consumed. But let's be careful, this method has yet to be proven to know what is the appropriate amount to use to properly filter the water.
Moringa to lower arsenic levels
Moringa is antiseptic and antifungal. Which means it destroys many fungi and harmful microbes.
Today, as many rice fields are contaminated with arsenic, and some eat a lot of rice (especially if you are gluten intolerant) it is possible to have a high level of arsenic in the blood. Over time, this can cause various illnesses, such as heart disease, certain cancers, or memory problems.
Animal studies suggest that Moringa oleifera may protect against arsenic toxicity. However, this has not yet been studied in men or women.
Moringa in my drink

On the market, we usually find powdered moringa leaves. It is then necessary to use ingenuity to integrate it into our diet so that it remains tasty to consume.
It is possible to make smoothies with the powder that is mixed with other ingredients, such as berries, a banana, orange juice, etc.
For a change, I invented a hot drink that contains moringa. I called it THE OPERA.
It's my detox drink. Combined with beetroot and combava, a gentle cleansing takes place in our body, without us realizing it. Plus, it tastes like hot chocolate. Because I don't really like doing detoxes that don't taste good. Here it is the opposite! If you add milk to the cup, the color changes to become almost red, because of the beets. It's cute!
